About Us
Patina Paperbacks was born in Sydney’s Inner West — a place where creativity spills out onto the pavement, neighbours know each other’s dogs, and no two café chairs match (on purpose). It’s a patchwork kind of place. Eclectic, unpolished, full of stories — just like the books we sell.
What began as a local passion project — hauling boxes of forgotten paperbacks out of garages, donation bins, and flea markets — has grown into a full-blown mission: save good books from the bin, and rehome them with people who’ll love them all over again.
We believe stories are meant to circulate. They’re not trophies for perfectly styled shelves or precious things to be locked away. They’re for reading, dog-earing, lending to a mate, and falling asleep with on your face. And they shouldn't cost a fortune. That’s why most of our books are just $6.66 — a price with just enough magic to feel like a little rebellion.
We’re not in this for the big margins or the collector’s market. We’re here for the everyday reader. The curious browser. The person who gets a little thrill from spotting a secondhand gem with a cracked spine and a past life.
From our warehouse in the Inner West to bookshelves across Australia (and beyond), we’re doing our part to keep books in circulation and out of landfill — with as little waste, fluff, or snobbery as possible.
Because stories are better when they’re shared — even if the pages are a bit worn in.
